Thank you for volunteering to coach for Douglas County Pop Warner Football Association. Without the time and dedication of our coaches, we would not be able to provide these wonderful opportunities for our children.
Football Coaches Course
Pop Warner has partnered with USA Football and it's Heads Up Football program. The goal is to ensure that all Pop Warner coaches are certified by USA Football to teach proper blocking and tackling techniques in a better and safer way. Coaches stay tuned for instructions on taking the new coaching course.
RMPW Background Check
For the safety and integrity of the children in the program, Pop Warner requires all board members, coaches, team moms, and team managers to have a background check performed each year. This year Parker Pop Warner is processing those background checks and will be sending the coaches further instructions on what we need.
Team Managers
Each team will be required to have a Team Manager. Team Managers responsibilities will be to collect all required paperwork needed from each player, maintain the binders needed for each team and have them at every game, work with your head coach and other coaches to help communicate to the team and parents, make sure you have game day volunteers, and manage the game certifications for age and/or weight for the team (this happens every game). Team Managers will also help facilitate any fundraising for their team as well.
At every game each team will be required to have volunteers for Mandatory Play Counters and at home games Chain Crew. Typically this will be parents who volunteer for these and the Team Manager or one of the coaches will facilitate this to be sure each has the required amount of volunteers.
