Our Mission
Douglas County Defenders is a nonprofit youth football and cheerleading organization open to children ages 5-14, serving Douglas County youth in Parker, Castle Rock, Aurora, Centennial, and Elizabeth.
We are a proud Pop Warner affiliate, offering a structured and supportive program designed to prepare young athletes for success—both on and off the field. Our mission is to provide a safe, fun, and competitive environment where players and cheerleaders can grow, learn, and thrive.
More Than a Team—We Are Family
At Douglas County Defenders, we believe that football and cheerleading are more than just sports—they are opportunities to build character, friendships, and lifelong memories. When athletes join our program, they become part of a family that supports, challenges, and uplifts one another.
We are committed to:
✔ Instilling lifelong values of teamwork, dedication, and a strong work ethic—both on and off the field.
✔ Encouraging youth participation by educating families on the safety and advantages of football and cheerleading.
✔ Fostering an inclusive environment where every player has the opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed, with no tryouts or cuts, per Pop Warner National Association guidelines.
✔ Building a culture of respect, sportsmanship, and leadership—helping young athletes develop confidence and resilience that extend beyond the game.
Through the dedication of our volunteer board of directors, coaches, and families, we create a positive and inspiring experience for every athlete. Whether on the field, in the classroom, or in life, our players and cheerleaders know they have a team behind them—because here, we are more than a team; we are family.
